Student Leadership

Student Leadership

At Old Noarlunga Primary School, we seek opportunities for all students to develop their leadership abilities. Alongside the chance to lead within their own class, our formal leadership programs are below.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

SRC representatives are elected by their peers in every class from Reception to Year 6. They organise events that support student wellbeing — Harmony Day, School Spirit celebrations — produce videos about our school values, and raise money for local community organisations.

House Captains

House Captains for each of the school house teams are elected by all members of their house. They help organise the school Sports Day and run activities through the year that get everybody moving.

School Captains

School Captains are elected by the entire student body and represent the school. They coordinate the SRC, present to the Governing Council on student matters, and take on a range of other roles through the year.

Youth Environmental Leaders Program (YELP)

All SRC representatives and School Captains take part in YELP, an initiative of Green Adelaide. Over the year, students attend leadership forums with students from across southern Adelaide, then design and run a sustainability project in their own community.
