Numeracy

Our numeracy program works to build competent and capable mathematical thinkers and problem-solvers. Our staff use a range of strategies — warm-ups, games and practical problem-solving — to engage students in mathematical learning.

Numeracy extension

We offer maths extension opportunities to students who demonstrate a high level of ability. Our students regularly take part in the Australian Mathematics Competition, and small groups have successfully completed the Mathematics Challenge for Young Australians.

Numeracy intervention

Our SSO team provide numeracy intervention through the QuickSmart program. This program builds fluency and automaticity in the number operations, which is the foundation for confidently engaging with mathematics.
